Afterwards, the visitors were able to observe Sorsogon’s very first “Kapihan sa Barangay” (Coffee with the Community) at Brgy. Bibincahan, Sorsogon City. The Kapihan is a dialogue focused on rabies and was conducted for social welfare beneficiaries. The organizers of the Kapihan were Ms. Benilda Recebido of the Philippine Information Agency and Ms. Glenda Agripa of the Department of Social Welfare and Development, in partnership with Provincial Veterinary Office and Provincial Health Office, and with the assistance of Barangay Chairman Roel Sta. Ana and Aemilianum College’s AITV.
Moderated by Ms. Recebido (photo 11: seated leftmost), panelists of the Kapihan include (photo 11: seated from left to right) Dr. Ashley de Castro (Asst. Provincial Veterinarian), Atty. Jovert Laceda (Public Information and Legal Counsel), PSupt. Nonito Marquez (Public Relation Officer) and Dr. Liduvina Dorion (Asst. Provincial Health Officer) who discussed rabies in humans and animals, rabies prevention measures, and laws and ordinances on rabies.
